The Conference will take place in Haifa – Israel's third-largest city, home base of the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology.

Haifa sits on the slopes of Mount Carmel facing the Mediterranean Sea. Some call it ‘Israel’s San Francisco’.
It is the city of co-existence, home to Jews, Muslims, Catholics, atheists and Bahais. All of them living in peace, and in praiseworthy levels of co-existence, tolerance and respect. Haifa's port is the biggest of Israel's international seaports. The city plays an important role in Israel's economy. It is home to Matam, one of the oldest and largest high-tech parks in the country.

Set upon Mount Carmel, Haifa is an unusual city to navigate. However, the advantage is that its scenery and terrain is stunning. From the top of Mount Carmel, take in the view from the Louis Promenade across the Port of Haifa. It heads north right across into the Western Galilee. 

The city’s crown jewel when it comes to tourism is undoubtedly the Baha'i Gardens. They form part of the Baha'i World Center, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. These beautiful gardens are a place of pilgrimage for members of the Baha'i faith. They sit on terraces sloping down Mount Carmel towards the beautiful Mediterranean Sea. At the bottom of the gardens is Haifa’s German Colony. The area’s famous for its pretty streets of restored templar-era buildings. The main street of the German Colony runs directly from the bottom of the gardens towards the coast and is lined with restaurants and cafes.

Important! 
Entry Visa to Israel

Passport holders of EU countries, Switzerland, the UK, the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and some more, do not require entry visas to Israel.
For participants from other countries, we strongly suggest starting the Visa procedure as soon as possible.

We strongly suggest all foreign participants verify the Visa requirements for their country at the website of your local Israeli embassy or consulate, or consult with your travel agent.

Invitation Letter

A letter of invitation from the conference will be issued upon request. This invitation is prepared solely to assist with visa application or participation requirements and is not a commitment on the part of the organizers to provide any financial support or confirmation of inclusion in the Scientific Program.
You can request the invitation letter at the time of registration, please make sure to check the box for the invitation letter and provide the additional information requested for that.

Airport

International flights land at the Ben Gurion Intl. Airport (TLV) - Terminal 3, located near Tel Aviv.
The airport is 55 miles (95 km) south of Haifa. (and 12 miles (20 km) southeast of Tel Aviv / 31 miles (50 km) northwest of Jerusalem), The drive from the airport to Haifa should take about an hour and a quarter.

Note: Some airport and public transportation services are limited on the Sabbath, between Friday from about 5 P.M. to Saturday at 8 P.M.

Note that trains and buses do not generally run on Saturdays/holidays in Israel. If you arrive on Friday or Saturday you will probably want to rent a car or take a taxi. (Fortunately, there are no national holidays for the duration of July-August.)
A train outage is planned for July 24 through July 30. Train service between Tel Aviv and Haifa will resume on July 31.

Departure from Ben Gurion Airport>> 

All passengers departing from Ben Gurion Airport are required to go through a security check by the security personnel at the terminal from which your flight is departing (most of the international flights are from terminal 3)

During the security check passengers are required to present a valid passport and flight ticket/boarding card to the security rep, at which time they will be asked security questions relevant to their flight.

Passengers should arrive at least 3 hours prior to departure for the security check procedure. on August we will recommend considering arriving 3.5 hours prior to your flight, to be on the safe side.

Rental Cars
Avis, Budget, Europcar, Hertz, SIXT and other local firms have offices at the airport.

Transportation to and from the conference venue >>

The official language of the conference is English.

Climate and Clothing

The climate in Haifa during July-August can be summarized as hot and arid.

August is the peak of summer in Haifa and is typically the warmest month of the year. Daytime maximum temperatures average around a warm 30°C (86°F), whilst at night 22°C (72°F) is normal. The city gets no rain at all, during July and August.
It’s hot in summer, so it’s best to bring lightweight, short, and airy clothes. Choose fabrics like cotton and linen.

However, if you visit religious or memorial sites, have a cardigan or scarf ready to cover your shoulders.
Don't forget to bring sunscreen (SPF 30 or SPF 50) with you to protect your skin from the harsh Israeli sun.

Currency

The unit of currency in Israel is the New Israeli Shekel (NIS or ILS) commonly known as the Shekel. Approximate currency rates as follows: (updated May 2022)

There are no restrictions on transfer and use of foreign currencies in Israel.
Most international credit cards are accepted.
